Itinerary
Begin your tour with your arrival at Lebo’s Soweto Back packers. Your first stop will be a lookout point of Orlando West and East. See the surroundings of the beautiful township that includes the Orlando Stadium and interact with the people along the way. Next you will head to Mzhimhlope Men's hostel which is considered to be a former migrant workers’ hostel. The guide will give you brie f about how men from around the country moved to Johannesburg and its townships to work in the gold mines. The tour will continue to Hector Pieterson via Meadowlands. Hector Pieterson is a place that commemorating the student’s uprising and when hundreds of children and youth lost their life while protesting against the apartheid education system. Then you will continue to Vilakazi Street where you will stop at Nelson Mandela’s home where you will learn about the contribution of the former president. This will be the last stop of your tour and then you will cycle back to Lebo’s. After the tour, you will be dropped off at the hotel.
